I tried Tasty's Fudgy Brownies Recipe

So i'm sure you've seen Tasty vids somewhere while you're scrolling through social media and probably was like , yea I would so try this when I get home. Then when you get home, you never do! I was like you once upon a time, until I actually tried one and i'm going to tell you all about it!

So I didn't follow the exact recipe (I substituted some stuff) but it definitely came out fudgy and chewy and nice, just like how brownies should be! Here's the Tasty vid and here's what I did to achieve a version of Tasty's fudgy brownies!

Ingredients:

3/4 cup of melted butter
1 cup of brown sugar
2 eggs
1 teaspoon of vanilla extract/essence
1 cup of flour
1 teaspoon of salt
1/4 cup of cocoa powder
1 bar of chocolate (cut up into small chunks)

Other Things You'll Need:

A baking dish ( I used an 8" x 8" glass dish).
A knife (to cut up your chocolate).
Measuring Cups (if you're into precision).
A whisk (to mix everything together but, I cheated and used a hand-held mixer because I got tired of whisking, LOL).
1 bowl (some persons like to mix wet ingredients separately from dry ingredients but i'm a 1 bowl type of gal!).

The Process:

The first thing I did was melt the butter and attempted to melt some chocolate. Guys, don't laugh but you're not supposed to put glassware on direct heat ok..... not everyone knows that........so don't ever attempt it otherwise you'll get the shock of your life, maybe cry a bit and in the end still have to replace your mum's baking dish. Glad we had this chat.

Moving on....

So I put the melted butter into a bowl and added the brown sugar. Tasty's vid recommended 1 3/4 cups of granulated sugar, but I didn't have any so I substituted it with a cup of brown sugar. Since brown sugar is generally sweeter than granulated sugar, I used 1 cup of brown sugar (instead of 1 3/4 cups) because I didn't want the brownies to be too sweet, considering there would be chocolate chunks in there already.

Then, I added the eggs, and some vanilla essence, 1 cup of flour, 1 teaspoon of salt, 1/4 cup of coca powder and the remaining chunks of chocolate I had after the whole melting chocolate attempt.

Results:

They tasted sooooooo yummy. So major thumbs up for that Tasty recipe! Since I whisked the mixture for some time then I used a hand-held electronic mixer after a while, mine came out a bit cakey to the top,
while the top supposed to have like a flaky-ish texture like the Tasty vid. But other than that, it was super fudgy and super chocolatey! Will definitely try it again!

Do you have a brownie recipe? If so lemme know what you used! I might try it sometime!

Date Night: Staying In Vs. Going Out

This is a short one! Don't forget Valentines Day is soon! I hope you have a great one filled with lots of sweet things. Such a day was created to tempt persons like me to steer away from our diet but i'm stronger than that. You will not defeat me this year sugar! It's quite possible couples may have a date night to celebrate Valentines Day and the restaurants will be filled. If you're into waiting for a table and you like going out much, then do you boo. But I prefer staying in. Basic, but whatever. I just like the whole idea of ordering the same food from your favourite restaurant (that you would buy if you go out) and having it in the comfort of your own home. Put the food on some nice plates, light some candles, throw some rose petals on the table, play some romantic music and have a nice dinner. You see it in the movies all the time and I know it seems corny and cheesy but have you ever had cheesy popcorn? It's a great combo! Ha! I really have t...

An Open Letter to Myself.

Wow! It's been a minute since I last posted on this blog and I am terribly sad that it took me this long to get back to something I truly enjoy doing. This entire time I was freaking out thinking what should be my first post for when I return? I didn't know exactly what to post and little did I know that the answer was sitting in my inbox for over one year.... I'm glad I'm back, though. I see Blogger has made some upgrades and what not. Anyway, back to why I'm here today. I usually send myself emails. I'm not sure if one would consider that as talking to yourself, but quite frankly, that's needed from time to time. And even if I was doing it for a while, it was confirmed as seemingly or somewhat normal when Golda Lee Bruce announced that she does it all the time, LOL. Phew! Anyway, let me just share what I sent myself, maybe me speaking to me will help you have the conversation you need to have with yourself. The subject of my email was "You'll Mak...

Dear Wanderlust, The Series Continues

" Travel makes you modest. You see what a tiny place you occupy in the world, " - Gustav Flaubert. Dear Wanderlust, The series continues....... Meet Kelsey and her beautiful daughter! Last time your eyes were glued to this blog, you read about a daring, young woman who gave her life wings and travelled all the way to Spain from a tiny speck on the world map, known as Trinidad. Now moving there on your own is a whole experience in itself, but what if you moved with your immediate family too? Would that make you feel less homesick with them there? Let's find out in this interview with Kelsey, who moved to Vietnam - from Trinidad -  with her family. Yes, you read that correctly. V I E T N A M. 1. Location: Q. Where are you from originally and where did you move to? A. I was born and raised on the beautiful island of Trinidad and Tobago. As far as places to be born, T&T is as good as it gets. However, for a year now, my family and I have...
