How to Maintain (Group) Friendships

My best friends and I have been friends since we were 11 years old! That's almost 15 years ago. From then 'til now, we've definitely gone through some things, let me tell you , LOL. But we've also been able to get over most of those things and kept our friendShip sailing. See what I did there?  Here are a couple ways we maintained our friendship over the years! 1. Make Time ( & Be Mature About It) Cliche, but true. To be very honest carving the time out of your never-ending days to facilitate some quality time with your friends is very difficult sometimes. But guess what, it's worth it almost every time. ( Almost every time because some days they may annoy you, so i'm taking everything into account here, LOL). If you can't make it to a friend meet-up or so, MESSAGE THE GROUP! I'm talking from experience here. Don't tell one or two persons in your squad. Tell the whole gang because you don't want anyone to feel left out or like

Bites & Banter: Q & A

On March 10th, 2019, Paula J. and the Casually Living Blog hosted a Women's Empowerment Event entitled, Bites & Banter in honour of Women's Day! Here's a little Q & A post to find out about the event and how it turned out! What was the reason for the event and when was it held ? A DIY Bites & Banter backdrop. The purpose for the event was basically to celebrate Women's Day because I found that it isn't celebrated in Trinidad and Tobago as much as other countries do. Women's Day is celebrated on March 8th every year but I thought a chill Sunday vibe would be best for the event, so it was held on Sunday 10th, March between 3.00 - 5.00 p.m. It was held at a really cute restaurant in Marabella, Trinidad called Bella Bites! Find them here:  www.instagram.com/bellabitestt/ What were your goals for the event? The goals for the event were to bring some women together, engage in some empowering activities, listen to some inspirat

2 Tips to Make Work More Enjoyable

I genuinely believe that at some point in time, you'd be tired of your desk, your cubicle, your office or wherever you work - even if it's a job that you enjoy doing. I think so because tasks usually become monotonous and especially so in places where there is no mobility or even a workplace culture or environment that endorses creativity and critical thinking. Here are two tips that will help you make work more enjoyable. 1. Start a Club. I remember being in so many clubs in school and being a part of other groups that filtered into my identity, today. So one day - while working in the job i'm currently at - I decided I should start a Birthday Club. This was fairly simple to do. I put a 'Sign Up' sheet on the Notice Board for those who would've liked to join and I set a monthly membership fee. How it works is basically that if there are one or more persons in a said month, we'll purchase a cake and ice cream with the funds (which is shared am
