Top Ten Movies and Songs of 2018 List

Is it becoming a distant memory yet? 2018, I mean. I know it was a hard year for most, but it was a pretty good year for the creative worlds of musicians, actors and the like. Here's my top ten movie list for 2018, in descending order: DISCLAIMER: I am a Marvel fan, ok and I haven't seen Aquaman  as yet so that's why it's not on here. 10. Deadpool 2 9.    Venom - Saw this in 4DX and that's the only reason it even made the list. 8.    A Simple Favor - this was the most comedic thriller I ever saw! 7.    Incredibles 2 - Nostalgic 6.   A Quiet Place 5.    Three Identical Strangers - More of a documentary, but it was interesting. 4.    Ocean's 8 - Cuz Rih is Bae 3.    Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom 2.    Black Panther - for the culture. 1.    Avengers: Infinity War - Binged watched all the other Avengers before seeing this. Special Mention to The First Purge and Tomb Raider, LOL. Oh, and Bumblebee , that I just saw. Here's my top ten

Journey to Body Positivity

So you may have seen a couple posts by some of your Facebook friends with throwback images of themselves from about 10 years ago. I also shared one on my FB but it was from 2011, because I couldn't find an earlier image. I got a lot of comments....mostly with persons in shock that I was 'thin' and probably even more so in comparison with my present physique. Some days I care about what they think. But then some days I wonder, who the hell are they ?! Like seriously, who are they? Stop thinking about what other people have to say or think about you. You would be trapped and held back from being the best you that you can be. I recently started thinking that way and it's so freeing, just being yourself, honestly. This year i'm proclaiming self-love and whatever I have to do to achieve that, I will do. No excuses. Story Time: I joined this really cool class guys! It's called the #IAMMovement! Find them here . I found them on Facebook actually an

3 Quick Study Tips for Busy College Students

Work. School. Hanging out. Side Jobs. Dreams. Meetings. And the list goes on and on.....How much could you possibly squeeze into a 24-hour-day?! Sometimes, life on a whole becomes so overwhelming and hectic that it looks like we have to be cloned so that we can be in different places simultaneously to meet all our commitments. Somehow, we seem to get it done though, which is super commendable. But here are some tips that may help when you when you have an exam coming up and can't find the time to get some studying done: 1. Acronyms. I know it's the oldest trick in the book, but it sure works for me. If you know what "LOL" and "WYD" means then you can make your own little list of abbreviations for definitions and things that you need to remember in an exam room. Let's say you are asked to list the four main processes of Management and the answer is Planning, Leading, Organizing and Controlling. Then, PLOC should mean just that (Planning, L

How To Make Someone's Birthday Special on a Budget.

Let me tell you how my Januarys are. After the New Year, the birthdays come in early for me. My mom and my niece's birthdays are back to back and one of my friend's is the following week! If my wallet was on life support for Christmas, it definitely flat lines in January, LOL. But of course, I have a few things up my sleeve that work really well to make everyone feel special on their birthday and still get some change after I spend. Here are some tips to keep your wallet alive when celebrating birthdays: 1. Everyone needs a birthday cake. I don't really like fancy cakes for my birthday - and by fancy I mean like the Tiramisus and the well-decorated cakes plastered over instagram and so on. You know the ones. (Sidebar: There are some really talented bakers & cake makers out here. If that's your vibe, catch it). However, let's not pretend that the supermarket doesn't sell some relatively good and reasonably priced cakes, though. They aren&#

Thanks, But No Thanks

A little different from Ariana's song title, thank you, next but get into it. You know that story about the chicken who bakes the bread and through the whole process she asks all her animal friends to help and they basically tell her no? If you don't, when she finishes baking the bread all the animals gather around because they wanted to get a piece of it, but she was the only one who put in all the hard work and had to check them on some 'remember when you didn't help me' type thing. Here's a couple real-life scenarios... Want to know who really wants you to be successful? Start something, like a business or anything really and ask your friends to like or share the business' page. You'll see how fast, fingers begin to get arthritis, Internet suddenly goes down in their area or the ' yea, I will ' but the notification never comes. via GIPHY I'm sure you know what i'm talking about and you might know the following scenario

Just Snap Out Of It

"What's on your mind?" That's the infamous Facebook prompter for users to update their status. But, what's really on your mind? Would Facebook - and all who follow you - really like to know what's on your mind? If you haven't guessed it already, this post is about mental health. I know, it's early in a New Year and this is a heavy topic but it must be talked about. My little random blog is probably not going to make such a drastic change in the world but i'll be sure to discuss real issues and somehow influence you guys in some way to feel comfortable enough to share your thoughts with someone. It's healthy - contrary to the way we were raised, right? In some way, speaking about how you felt was taboo. I remember my first panic attack. I was seventeen and in a classroom on my laptop. We didn't have a scheduled class at that time, so I think I was playing a game. All my classmates were in their worlds doing whatever and I just
